Hello, we are Fidan and Engin from Istanbul, Turkey. We stayed at Kliniken Schmieder in Allensbach as family members during the treatment of my wife/my sister Leyla.
In 2020, Leyla sustained anoxic brain damage and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy due to cardiac arrest. After some months of treatment in Turkey, a friend of ours, which is working as a nurse, told us that there is no suitable clinic or center for Neurological Rehabilitation in Turkey and recommended we seek medical treatment abroad. For us, two countries came into consideration: Germany and France. Our choice was Germany because there are more opportunities there. We researched, informed ourselves in detail, and decided on the Kliniken Schmieder in Allensbach. Their clinical expertise, as well as the cooperation of the clinic with the Coma Group particularly, convinced us.
Our first impression of the Kliniken Schmieder was their treatment concept and that it gave us more hope than we had in Turkey. All employees were helpful and friendly and acted professionally when it came to problems. We are most satisfied with the competence and friendliness of the ward team that cared for Leyla during her stay. In our opinion, the duration of some of the therapy sessions could have been longer and, therefore, more productive.
Now that the treatment at Kliniken Schmieder is over, it is a huge motivation to us that the tracheostomy tube could be removed. Especially because we have a very difficult time behind us, we thank our doctor on the ward who has always motivated us during our time in Germany.
We are happy to recommend Kliniken Schmieder in Allensbach with their successful treatment concept, especially for patients with preserved consciousness but also for other patients with severe neurological diseases.
