In our Brain Stimulation Centre (BSC), we offer innovative, invasive, and non-invasive diagnostic and treatment options for patients in a coma and with disorders of consciousness. Non-invasive brain stimulation helps to increase the activity of the nerve cells in the brain by pharmacological, electrical, or magnetic stimulation. Another option is the treatment of dysphagia using pharyngeal stimulation.
For which patients is the treatment in the BSC recommended?
The Brain Stimulation Centre specializes in treating severe brain damage (Traumatic Brain Injury; Inflammatory CNS Disease; Intoxication; Hypoxia/Anoxia; Stroke).
It is especially recommended for patients in Coma, in Minimally Conscious State (MCS), and with Unresponsive Wakefulness Syndrome.

- non-pharmacological brain stimulation: transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- pharyngeal stimulation

- Regular talks about the current situation and further procedure
- Monitoring of the progress
