KLINIKEN SCHMIEDER

Clinic Allensbach

Lake Constance is not only charming for holiday-makers. This pre-alpine lake with its mild climate and its cultural surroundings is also the ideal destination for neurological patients. Our clinic in Allensbach is situated near the City of Constance facing the Isle of Reichenau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Kliniken Schmieder Allensbach in the very south of Germany is surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Forests, meadows, and a bit of fruit and wine production make Lake Constance even more attractive.

Our clinic is situated above the idyllic town of Allensbach with a view on the western part of Lake Constance. The university town Constance, directly by the Swiss border, is only 10 kilometers away.

The mild climate is ideal for the cultivation of apples and wine. There are many tourist attractions in the area such as the flower island Mainau, the waterfall of the river Rhine, or the Zeppelin airship-museum in Friedrichshafen. In summer, many tourists enjoy their holidays in Allensbach on Lake Constance.

Lake Constance – international waters in the heart of Europe
Germany, Switzerland and Austria meet at Lake Constance. With a length of 63 km and a width of 14 km, the lake is one of the largest lakes in Europe. There are beautiful locations around the lake like Meersburg, a small picturesque mediaeval town with a 300-year-old castle, or Bregenz, which is famous for the outstanding open-air-opera performances on the lakefront. Lake Constance is ideal for water sports such as sailing, surfing, or swimming.

Within a 90-minute drive you reach the Alps of either Switzerland or Austria, where hiking and skiing are very popular.

PHASES OF NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION IN ALLENSBACH

NRP-I A
NRP-S B
NRP-M C, D+E
NRP-M Day Care

NRP-I

Emergency treatment

Emergency care is provided after an accident or illness, if necessary - also in an intensive care setting. Prompt treatment is essential to the success of treatment, as the first few hours after an acute neurological episode are critical. Vital functions are often limited, so prompt and qualified patient treatment is required.

NRP-S

Early rehabilitation

The early rehabilitation phase involves the treatment and rehabilitation of severely injured patients. Due to the severity of the patient's condition, he still requires intensive medical supervision and therapeutic measures. Many professionals (doctors of various specialties, physiotherapists, caregivers, and social services) work with patients and their families to restore vital functions, sensorimotor and coordination, and mental, cognitive, and psychological functions. This also requires specially equipped beds in intensive care equipment.

NRP-M

Early mobilization

Stage C (after initial rehabilitation) focuses on developing everyday skills. Patients can already respond, and their condition is stable, but some still require serious care. Physicians, physiotherapists, medical staff, and social services work within interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized therapy for each patient's specific clinical status.

NRP-M Day Care

Rehabilitation treatment

Phase D / E involves preparation for professional reintegration. Patients are already largely independent in terms of daily routine activities. Therefore, in the D / E phase, the verification of work and professional competence comes to the fore, as well as the training of mental and psychological functions and social, cultural, and leisure competence. Through restoring professional skills or retraining, full reintegration into the professional environment can occur.
