Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. Along with epilepsy, it is one of the most common neurological diseases in young adults. Most patients are between 20 and 40 years old when symptoms first appear. In more than one-third of patients, MS begins with sensory disturbances: Arms or legs feel numb or the skin tingles. The aim of therapeutic measures is to maintain the patient’s independence in everyday life. The best achievable quality of life should be ensured for the patient.

My name is Basma Alotaibi. I am from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

In Saudi Arabia, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I decided to seek a treatment abroad, because I was hoping to receive another diagnosis or a better medicine and treatment. From the beginning, it was clear to me that Germany is my first place to search for a cure in. Due to several family and friends that received an absolute great treatment, so I wanted to give it a try. Before I decided to go to Kliniken Schmieder, I visited the website and twitter of the clinic to read about it, and consulted with my friend that got treated in Germany before.

At the beginning of my treatment, I was afraid because of the pandemic. But then I saw how careful the crew were and I was relieved. I was really excited to start my physiotherapy and to meet the professor of Kliniken Schmieder, because deep down I was hoping that he will inform me that I am free of Multiples Sclerosis. The staff at Kliniken Schmieder were more than helpful. They were so kind, they never made me feel that I am less or weak, and they helped in enhancing my confidence. In addition, they showed me the best way to get as fit and healthy as I should be. They were enlightening me, and I am thankful for that.

I am satisfied with the improvement I achieved. I am happy about the result and the new treatments that made me feel better and more confident than I was before. Now I know what I need to get better, and I learned to finally accept that I have Multiple Sclerosis.

At long last I recommend all the patients to get treated in Germany and try the physiotherapy to feel the best.
