The current events in Ukraine awaken the wish to help in many people. That is why the Kliniken Schmieder have taken part in a number of aid campaigns and launched a fundraising campaign.
At the beginning of April, the Kliniken Schmieder donated to “Aktion Deutschland Hilft”. The size of the donation was determined by the contribution of the employees: Every euro donated by them was doubled by the Kliniken Schmieder. With a joint donation of 80,000 €, we were able to support the people in Ukraine.
In March, various medical utensils, medicines, hygiene articles as well as clothes, blankets, and pillows were collected at the clinic sites at the Lake Constance and in Gailingen. The compilation of the many relief goods was also possible thanks to numerous private donations from staff members. The aid packages were used to support a private aid transport from Radolfzell, which was co-organised, among others, by Laura Gamper, an employee of the Kliniken Schmieder on a self-employed basis. Coaches from the tourism company Kögel took the aid packages to a refugee centre on the Ukrainian border in Poland. On the way back, 43 Ukrainians seeking protection were brought to Radolfzell.
At the Stuttgart-Gerlingen location, about 40,000 medical gloves were assembled for another privately organised donation campaign by a staff member. Some of these gloves arrived at a hospital in Kiev at the beginning of March.
In addition, a joint fundraising campaign was launched together with the sports club in Allensbach. A donation box for “Aktion Deutschland Hilft” was set up at two home matches. The donations collected here were doubled by the Kliniken Schmieder and a fantastic amount of 1,500 € was donated!
A special site was set up on the intranet where employees can exchange information about private initiatives. In addition, the Kliniken Schmieder want to create job opportunities for refugees and provide treatment in individual cases.
We thank all our employees and supporters for their great commitment!
