Last week, a delegation of the Kliniken Schmieder traveled to Kazakhstan. The five-day trip included visiting Almaty, Astana, and the Karaganda Medical University (KMU). As part of the cooperation with the University, Prof. Dr. med. Liepert (Head of Neurological Rehabilitation) gave two lectures to the medical students. Starting with an introduction to the guidelines of neurological rehabilitation, the second lecture was about providing insights into the treatment of spasticity. Approx. 50 students and neurologists attended the presentation, and 50 more from all over Kazakhstan attended online.
“Our cooperation with KMU is very fruitful. Particularly the exchange of the medical experts on both sides is rapidly developing”, says Stefan Boeckle, Director of the international Patients of Kliniken Schmieder.
Another important part of the trip was to get to meet with hospitals in Kazakhstan and exchange information with the medical and management teams on early rehabilitation to initiate better and stronger cooperation in the future.
