Kliniken Schmieder have once again been awarded for their comprehensive quality management. All six locations of the clinic group received the recertification from the Cooperation for Transparency and Quality in Health Care (KTQ®) in compliance with the specifications of the Federal Working Group for Rehabilitation (BAR). For the first time, the satellite ward managed by Kliniken Schmieder at the Stuttgart hospital was included in the certification process and also received an award.
Kliniken Schmieder achieved excellent results at their six locations in the certification audits carried out every three years by independent, external assessors. For the fifth time in a row, Kliniken Schmieder have received the seal of approval for their high quality standards in neurological rehabilitation. This means that they continue to be rated as the nationwide quality leader in the field of neurological rehabilitation.
Already at the welcoming event in Allensbach, there was much praise from the visitors: “The clinics are perfectly positioned.” In their final report, in addition to the therapeutic offer, they also mention the high qualification and commitment of the staff as well as the good further and advanced training opportunities as strengths. In the area of safety, they highlighted energy management, data protection, and hygiene management, which is particularly important in these times. The expansion of digitalisation was mentioned both as a strength and as potential for improvement. The further development of Kliniken Schmieder as a whole was expressly praised by the visitors.
The Corona pandemic presented the certification process with special challenges this time. Many arrangements in advance and even more organisation than usual were required in order to allow the KTQ visitation, which was actually planned for March 2020, to take place despite the pandemic. In mid-October 2020, the visitation could finally be carried out under difficult conditions due to hygiene regulations and restrictions – and very successfully.
“Compared to the certification process in 2017, we have improved in all KTQ categories. The overall result is the best achieved so far – and in all categories,” Jörg Krumm, Head of Quality Management at Kliniken Schmieder, is pleased to say.
